Resiliency

In September 2019, Hurricane Dorian devastated The Bahamas, a place my heart calls home. After listening to the horrible stories of all of the lives lost, I woke up one morning feeling helpless. I quickly coordinated donations to help with the immediate needs as the storm passed. But, I always felt something more—an effort more lasting—needed to be done. I couldn’t get the images of human suffering out of my head. I still can’t.

My mom is Bahamian. She died on September 24, 2012. She was born and raised on a small family island in The Bahamas. Right out of college, my mom asked me to move to The Bahamas to try and use my talents to help the small country. I didn’t feel that I had anything to offer at that time, my skills and experiences were limited in my early 20’s. I do now. In fact, what I have to offer can help communities all over the world. We have an incredible team of like-minded individuals forming, elite and proven professionals in their fields, working together to do the innovative work most people only talk about. We are going to get it done. We are going to save lives. We are going to help a lot of people in a new way, partnering and connecting worldwide efforts. You will have an opportunity to journey with us. You may even find an opportunity to join us. We are individuals who understand that focusing on humanity leads to good economics.

I will formally introduce you to The Global Resiliency Project very soon.
